What can you take?
- One standard carry-on bag up to 10 kg
- One light personal item
-
Standard carry-on baggage
Carry-on baggage must be placed in the overhead compartments. It is therefore important to respect the dimensions and weights allowed: 35 cm wide, 55 cm high and 25 cm deep, including wheels. If the baggage does not meet the established standards, the customer will be charged an excess baggage fee. -
Personal Items
Personal items such as a backpack, purse, eco-bag, laptop bag, airport shopping bag and camera/electronic case may be placed under the seat in front of you. The maximum dimensions for personal items are 35 cm wide, 45 cm high and 20 cm deep. -
Bag and backpack labels
You can have your personal items tagged at check-in or at the boarding gate. This will help keep your flight organized and on time.
How do you stow your baggage on board?
Standard carry-on baggage: in the overhead bins. Depending on the aircraft, bags may be placed vertically or horizontally.
Personal items: should be placed under the seat in front of you.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of our Flight Attendants for assistance.
Allowed items:
In order to avoid setbacks when travelling, it is essential to know in advance what is allowed or not to take in your carry-on.
It is also important to know which items require prior authorization from GOL
- Personal hygiene or medicinal items
-
You can take personal hygiene items or non-radioactive medicinal items including aerosols, as long as:
- The total net quantity of all referenced items carried by a single passenger (both in carry-on and checked-in luggage) does not exceed 2kg or 2L;
- The net amount of any individual item does not exceed 500g or 500 mL;
- The number of aerosols and atomizers in carry-on luggage does not exceed four bottles per person. The content of each of these bottles must also be less than 300 mL or 300g (ANAC Resolution 207);
- Aerosol decompression valves are protected by a capsule or other suitable means to prevent involuntary release of their contents.
This category includes products such as atomizers, perfumes, colognes and medicines that contain alcohol.
Please note: these items can also be carried in checked baggage. - Single batteries up to 100 Wh, 2g or 12V
-
Extra batteries for portable electronic devices (batteries, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries) must be carried exclusively in carry-on baggage. Power sources (such as the power bank) are also considered spare batteries.
You can take a maximum of two extra batteries, which must be individually protected to prevent short circuits.
Other important recommendations:
- For lithium metal batteries, the lithium content must not exceed 2g;
- The lithium-ion battery must not exceed 100 Wh;
- The non-spillable battery must not exceed 100 Wh or 12V.
Important: Li-ion batteries between 100 and 160 Wh, or lithium metal batteries between 2 and 8 g (for use only in portable medical electronic devices), can only be transported with authorization from GOL and only in carry-on baggage. Above these indices, transport is totally prohibited in any circumstance.

-
Portable electronic devices for personal use (wristwatches, calculators, cameras, cell phones, laptop computers, video cameras, among others) may be transported in your hand luggage as long as their batteries do not exceed:
- 100 Wh for lithium-ion batteries; 2g lithium content for lithium metal batteries; 100 Wh or 12V in case of non-spillable battery. The equipment must be protected against inadvertent activation or the battery must be disconnected and its exposed terminals insulated.
- Up to 15 devices and 20 extra batteries are allowed per person. GOL does not transport hoverboards, segways and other "self-balancing" equipment.

Baggage is determined per passenger and per segment
To find out how to purchase your luggage according to your type of flight, check on the examples below:
- Round trip flight
-
If you want to check your luggage on the round trip, you must purchase one piece of luggage for each segment:
1 contracted luggage for the outbound and 1 contracted luggage for the return.You can also purchase more than one piece of luggage for each segment, according to your needs.
- Connecting flights
-
Baggage purchases are valid from origin to final destination, regardless of the stopover or flight connection.
- Stopover
-
If you have luggage, you must remove it during the stop and, if necessary, hire the service to dispatch it when you are going to re-embark.
In other words, the checked baggage service is optional for each segment.
Free Checked baggage
If you are traveling with a baby, who is up to 2 years old, you can check in a car seat OR a stroller (which can be made up of several parts, as long as it is part of the same element) OR a baby carrier per child as an extra deductible, free of charge. On domestic flights, if you need to bring other items, they will be deducted from the parents' or guardians' baggage allowance. On international flights, you are only entitled to carry-on weighing up to 10 kg.
Customers in need of special assistance who use support items (such as a wheelchair, for example) can transport one of these at no additional cost. If the customer has more than one item, GOL offers an 80% discount on the amount charged for excess baggage in cases of transporting essential technical aids or medical equipment. Learn more about boarding for people with permanent physical or physical disabilities and temporary reduced mobility.
Maximum number of pieces
Regardless of the concept of baggage allowance applied to the flight (weight or piece), GOL accepts a maximum of 5 pieces per customer.
For security reasons, baggage that exceed the excess free allowance will only be accepted on the customer's original flight if there is no weight or space restriction on the aircraft. If the customer so wishes, GOL may send the excess baggage on the next available flight, and the customer will be responsible for collecting the baggage at the destination airport.

Recommendations
Check out some tips so you can set your luggage in the best way:
⦁ The identification tag inserted at check-in may be lost en route to the aircraft. Therefore, personal identifications can speed up the location in cases of loss. On the outside, place your own identifier with your surname, telephone number and e-mail address and, on the inside, place a business card or a piece of paper with the same data;
⦁ Before checking your luggage, remove all tags from previous trips;
⦁ Personalize your luggage with ribbons, stickers or any other accessories that can easily identify it on the baggage claim belt and avoid exchanges;
⦁ Adapt the size of your luggage to your needs and make sure it is closed properly. Excessively overloaded baggage is in danger of breaking;
⦁ Take your valuables, fragile or indispensable (keys, documents, jewelry, money, medication, prescriptions, etc.) in your carry-on;
⦁ Ensure your items can be transported in the cabin or hold;
⦁ Photograph your checked luggage before travel.
