General Rules
- Infants up to 2 incomplete years of age can board domestic flights without paying for the air ticket. On international flights, they pay 10% of the adult fare. On both domestic and international flights, the infant must travel on the lap of a responsible adult over 18 years of age.
- Only one infant is allowed per customer. In the case of twins, two paying adults are required. For more information, visit the website of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
- GOL does not transport children from 0 to 8 incomplete years of age without a responsible adult over 18 years of age.
How to include infants in your reservations
- If you will be traveling with your lap infant up to 2 incomplete years of age, you must include the infant’s name during the purchase of the ticket (see the image below where to include the infant):
- If you have already made the purchase without including the baby's name, you can make this request through our customer service center. Contact us by phone (0300 115 2121) or type "speak to attendant" in the chat with GAL. Remember: only one infant is allowed per customer. In the case of twins, two paying adults must be present.
How to confirm infants in your reservation
- On the purchase confirmation sent to you by e-mail, only the names of the passengers occupying seats on the plane are shown. Therefore, you do not see the name of the child under two years of age, because they travel on the lap of an adult.
- You can view this information by going to the My Bookings/ Find a Trip field on our website. The name of the lap child will appear under the name of the passenger responsible for the child.
Infant baggage
- If you are traveling with an infant, you can check in free of charge:
- 01 baby car seat OR
- 01 stroller (which can be made up of several pieces, as long as it is part of the same element) OR 01 baby carrier.
- On domestic flights, if you need to bring other items, they will be deducted from the parent or guardian's baggage allowance.
- You can choose to take the stroller to the aircraft door. There, you must check the item in.
- As carry-on luggage, only fully collapsible strollers (umbrella models) are allowed, if there is space on board.
Documents for travelling with infants
- It is necessary to present a valid document that proves the degree of kinship, either:
- Birth certificate (original or certified copy) or;
- ID (original or certified copy) or;
- Valid passport.
- When it is not possible to prove the degree of kinship, an authorization must be presented by means of a public deed or private document notarized by similarity or authenticity expressly authorized by the mother, father or legal guardian.
- If the authorization is not valid, we consider two years from the date it was issued.
The police report (B.O.) is not a valid document for boarding children from 0 to 12 incomplete years of age. The acceptance of Police Report for children (0 to 12 incomplete years) must be done in consultation with the Child and Youth Court of each location.
Restraint Seat
GOL allows infants and children up to 25 kg in restraint seats attached to the aircraft seat, on domestic and international flights operated by GOL. You may choose to use your own car seat or request a car seat made available by GOL.
Own Car Seat (CRD)
Send the reservation data and information about the car seat - brand, model and PDF file with the equipment manual to the e-mail medif@voegol.com.br, up to 7 (seven) days before the trip. Using the information on the car seat, an evaluation is conducted to validate whether the equipment can be installed safely in the aircraft seat. If the seat is to be used by a lap baby, a ticket must be purchased for the baby.
Car Seat (CRD) GOL
GOL provides a car seat for use during the flight, for an additional fee. Contact GOL by phone up to 7 (seven) days before the trip and request the service.
Feeding infants and children up to 2 years old
GOL does not provide a feeding service for infants and children under 2 years of age on its flights.
Important
If you are traveling with children under the age of 16, it is recommended that they be in the same reservation as the responsible adult, as we will be able to identify this condition in advance and allocate them seats in close proximity, regardless of whether or not you are booking a seat in advance.
In addition, you may book your seats at any time, according to the corresponding applicable fare, or you may find free seats and proceed with your booking within the check-in window (48 hours before the flight).
We recommend that you check in through the available service channels and book your seats in advance. If this does not happen, please contact our CRC (0300 115 2121) or contact our staff at the airport before the check-in window closes (1 hour before flight departure).
